The Opportunity

This position as Director, Intangible Assets is an amazing opportunity to join a high performing team of experienced professionals in Gordon Brothers’ Corporate Recovery team. This position will allow a high degree of flexibility and the Director will be able to grow and form a team with a lot of autonomy in many aspects. The incoming candidate will provide Intellectual Property services including advisory, monetisation and valuations for Gordon Brothers’ extensive portfolio of Restructuring & Turnaround clients in UK and EMEA. The successful individual will take on responsibility across the entire lifecycle of deals, from origination to execution.

The Director, Intangible Assets will be tasked with supporting the company through an exciting and dynamic period of development and maturation and will have following responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Gordon Brothers’ existing Retail and Restructuring teams to develop and grow their IP offering.
  • Source, structure, analyse and document opportunities as well as manage the resulting portfolio through the product lifecycle.
  • Lead discovery calls with clients.
  • Choose and apply recognised IP valuations methods based on the aims of the client.
  • Produce reports and proposals for the client based on IP valuation undertaken.
  • Maintain a high-quality relationship and strong communication with the clients.
  • Provide transaction summaries describing present opportunities in weekly pipeline meetings.
  • Attend industry events to develop and deepen relationships and source potential opportunities.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients both during the business day and “after hours” events.

The Candidate

Gordon Brothers has a collaborative and diverse culture and is looking for a commercially minded individual with the ambition to continue to build on this strong foundation, fulfilling the following criteria:

  • Bachelors’ degree in business or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience within financial or professional service organization, ideally within IP related advisory services.
  • Proven strength in managing relationships to grow the business.
  • Knowledge of various IP valuation methods and demonstrated ability to apply those based on the most appropriate one, depending on the asset and aim of the evaluation.
  • Ability to manage and drive multiple processes and deliverables against tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative team-player & self-motivated with ability to work independently.
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and across multiple organizational layers and departments.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong drive for results, bias for action with superior analytical and time management skills
