Due to the steady growth of innovation and IP activities in the fields of Biotechnology and Formulation, a new position has been created for a commercially-minded European Patent Attorney with proven good professional judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset to join its dynamic and challenging environment. Reporting to the VP, Global Head of IP, the appointed person will be mainly responsible for implementing the group IP strategy in the area of protection and freedom to operate around product and processes relating to industrial/white biotechnology (including biocatalysis and metabolic engineering), plant biochemistry, botany and microbiology, corresponding activities being directed towards the development/production of Ingredients (small molecules).
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
• Full qualification as a European Patent Attorney, ideally with 5 to 7 years’ relevant and practical IP experience in either a private practice or in-house setting.
• An excellent educational background (MSc or PhD) in Biotechnology, Biology, Food Sciences or other related technical disciplines;
• Experience of managing the full patent life cycle and FTO assessments;
• Strong desire to take initiative, be proactive and think creatively, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to establish and grow an IP portfolio.
