The firm was founded in Munich in 1992 initially under the name of “Dr. Volker Vossius” and rebranded into ZSP Patentanwälte subsequently. ZSP has its main office in Munich and a branch office in Berlin.
Since its foundation, this stellar boutique has successfully managed numerous patent applications, oppositions, nullity and opinion matters in the fields of chemistry and molecular biology at the European Patent Office, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the German Federal Supreme Court on behalf of national and international clients. The firm has been consistent in offering clients the competence of highly qualified patent agents with unrivalled expertise in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, Pharmacy and Medical Technology.
Following a successful and strategic senior hire which has implemented and expanded the Medical Technology practice, the firm is now focusing on further expansion. ZSP now wishes to recruit an additional attorney to work within the Medical Technology Division in Munich. This opportunity is a key appointment for the firm and given the outreach of their clients’ offering, ZSP is also keen to consider candidates working from their growing Berlin office.
The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse and exciting patent portfolio covering international patent applications and the prosecution of the related grant procedures in the fields of medical technology, general physics, semiconductor technology, sensors, optics, optoelectronics, interferometry and laser. The candidate will be playing a key role in the development and implementation of IP policies and procedures, will be expected to assume a high degree of autonomy in the management of their portfolio whilst receiving additional support from the senior members of the team and ZSP’s experienced administrative staff.

The successful candidate is likely to fulfil the following criteria:
- Possess a degree in Physics, Electronics or a related Engineering discipline from a well-regarded university;
- Be a fully qualified European Patent Attorney;
- Possess 2+ years of post-qualification experience;
- Be highly motivated and proactive with the drive and determination to assist in the development of the Medical Technology practice and the firm as a whole;
- Possess excellent communication skills coupled with good interpersonal skills, to interface effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and clients.
