THE OPPORTUNITY
invoX Pharma is looking for a highly skilled and ambitious Senior Patent Attorney to join the team of dynamic, entrepreneurial, and inspiring individuals and to share their vision of improving people’s lives by becoming a globally recognised biopharmaceutical company. The incoming Head of Intellectual Property will assume chief responsibility for formulating and implementing global IP strategies, as well as the development of the Group patent portfolio and will enjoy a high level of autonomy and diversity in dealing with a broad range of patent matters:
- Define, manage and lead invoX’s global IP strategy;
- Maintain invoX’s patent portfolio, conduct and analyse landscape/FTO and patentability assessments;
- Manage and de-risk the intellectual property portfolio and carry out high level due diligence;
- Conduct due diligence and provide IP support on invoX’s M&A and licensing activities;
- Oversee and manage external counsel and budget;
- Liase with other departments across the company to ensure IP knowledge and expertise contributes effectively to technical and material innovation;
- Proactively engage with invoX’s R&D organisation.
THE CANDIDATE
invoX Pharma has a collaborative and supportive culture and is looking for a commercially minded patent attorney with the ambition to continue to build on this strong foundation. The successful candidate is likely to fulfil the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology or related field;
- Qualification as Chartered Patent Attorney;
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience practicing patent law ideally in an industry setting or through a secondment;
- Experience in defining IP strategies and long-term objectives;
- Experience in building relationships to mine and harvest IP from R&D inventors;
- Experience in building relationships with senior business partners to communicate IP matters in a clear and comprehensive way;
- Comfortable representing the IP Department as one of many company stakeholders with a responsibility in assessing risks, options, and possible outcomes of a proposed company action;
- Highly professional, self-motivated, accurate, detailed, independent, and flexible with ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of integrity;
- Possess initiative and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
