A unique opportunity for an experienced IP Lawyer at Key Patent Innovations, flexible working

As the company enters an exciting phase of growth and development, they are looking to appoint an experienced IP Lawyer to join the dynamic team and to play a pivotal role in the company’s global intellectual property litigation efforts. 

This is a unique opportunity to drive significant impact at the forefront of IP law and to  contribute to the company’s growth story. You would help shape industry standards globally by coordinating litigation efforts for one of the world’s most technologically advanced patent portfolios. This is a key and critical appointment which requires an empathetic and compassionate approach balanced with logic, reasoning, strong stakeholder management skills, trust and credibility. You would: 

  • Oversee, manage and supervise outside litigation counsel in the preparation of cases, including drafting complaints, motions and legal briefs. 
  • Provide overall coordination of strategic and tactical decisions, determine likely outcomes and damage awards from potential assertions in various jurisdictions. 
  • Oversee and manage discovery, depositions and trial preparation in IP-related legal matters. 
  • Support or lead IP licensing and settlement negotiations with third parties, where required. 
  • Stay informed about changes in IP law, regulations and industry trends. 

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • Experience of driving patent litigation projects, from devising strategy through to managing external counsel across the US and Europe, ideally coupled with knowledge of the Unified Patent Court and / or other key international jurisdictions 
  • Qualification as a lawyer  
  • Bring the analytical skills and practical touch needed to successfully weigh all the angles that comprise a successful litigation strategy and licensing negotiation.
