HGF is seeking a dynamic and experienced Patent Attorney to join its growing team in Munich, working within its successful Electronics/Engineering practice.
THE OPPORTUNITY AND THE CANDIDATE
The appointed individual will be responsible for handling significant patent work throughout the entire patent lifecycle. They will represent major German and international clients in a variety of technologies, including optical elements, plastic materials, electrical devices, software, LEDs, semiconductors, and testing of PCPs, while also managing client relationships where appropriate.
In summary, the candidate will:
- Manage patent drafting, filing and prosecution work for key existing clients in Germany and Austria.
- Handle FTO and oppositions before the EPO and GPTO.
- Advise clients in relation to patent portfolio management, including strategies for protection and enforcement to maximise the portfolio’s true value and potential from a commercial perspective.
- Provide advice in relation to litigation and agreements, including licensing.
The successful candidate will ideally fulfil the following criteria:
- Qualification as a German Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney.
- A degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience working in either private practice and/or industry in the field of Physics, Electronics, Software or equivalent.
- Experience across several activities, including filing, prosecution, portfolio management, FTO matters and oppositions/litigation.
- Fluency in oral and written German and English.
- Knowledge of AI and mathematics would be a valuable asset, but is not a pre-requisite.
