About the Opportunity
Faurecia’s commitment to innovation is significant, driven through its extensive Research and Development (R & D) operations, with over 190 million invested in 2018. Central to this is the company’s Intellectual Property strategy, driven by the Group Intellectual Property Department. The IP team comprises some 40 professionals based in France, Germany, the US, India and China. It is the responsibility of this department to liaise closely with Faurecia’s local scientists and development engineers, together with the company’s marketing department, to harvest the latest inventions and to create an IP strategy enabling the company to benefit from its technological advances.
Due to the significant increase in innovation within the Clean Mobility business sector and its ever-increasing value to the organisation, Faurecia is now seeking to recruit a Senior Patent Attorney to join the team in Augsburg, to focus on IP activities within this sector. Reporting directly to Arnaud Bastien, the Global IP Director for FCM based in Paris, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting colleagues in patent infringement analysis, oppositions and nullity proceeding in Germany, (pre)litigations actions and some inventor remuneration matters. This role will also entail offering commercially strategic IP counsel across the business unit, cultivating IP awareness across German operations and management of the FCM portfolio.
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- Education to MSc level or beyond in mechanical or electrical engineering, electronics or related field;
- At least 3-5 years of post EQE qualification experience;
- Previous in-house experience would be considered advantageous;
- Fluency in German and English.
