Victoria Jackson and Samantha Knowles were retained by a global technology multinational going through a Deferred Prosecution Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice. The company needed urgent support to grow its Corporate and Government Investigations function, spread across strategic global hubs in the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific. The multidisciplinary team needed qualified lawyers and corporate investigators with backgrounds in audit, risk, finance, and law enforcement.

We ran multiple global searches simultaneously and mapped out each region’s best corporate and government investigators. Candidates underwent a two-stage interview process with Research and, subsequently, the Lead Consultant. The best candidates were shortlisted.

We prioritised finding candidates with previous corporate monitorship experience, and those candidates command a premium in the market. We were operating under a limited budget and significantly scaling what had always been a small function for the company. This meant that the internal role gradings and compensation levels did not always reflect the experience and profiles required to navigate such a large and complicated multi-jurisdictional investigation effectively. However, our niche subject matter expertise, refined process and commitment resulted in placing some of the best white-collar professionals across the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. We also provided critical market data to the company’s Talent Acquisition and Human Resources teams to benchmark their internal salary bandings and role specifications in each geographical market.

This project led to multiple additional searches across compliance, including Third-Party Risk, Anti-Corruption and Culture hires.
