A US-headquartered automotive technology company retained Victoria Jackson to find a General Counsel for its EMEA region based in Dublin, Ireland. Reporting to the US-based Chief Legal Officer, this person would manage a European legal team and partner closely with the sales organisation.

The company was looking for a European-qualified lawyer with training from a leading international law firm and previous legal leadership experience gained in the technology, automotive or manufacturing sectors. Candidates needed a broad generalist skill set across commercial, corporate advisory, competition, supply chain, ESG and data privacy. Considerable experience in the German market was essential as many of the company’s key customers were in Germany, and additional European language skills were strongly preferred.

We conducted a pan-European search and identified the most substantial industry leaders with broad multi-jurisdictional experiences in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. After assessing a talent pool of eighty candidates, we presented a shortlist of five to our client, and a bilingual Irish-qualified lawyer with a wealth of international law firm, start-up, and multinational technology experience was successfully appointed.
