After a successful Series C fundraising, a unicorn health-tech company approached Adamson & Partners to find a Vice President of Legal to lead its global legal team. Our client was preparing for an IPO and needed an experienced corporate lawyer with a broader commercial outlook who could manage its global legal team during rapid growth and change.

Our client had previously tried to recruit themselves, but the hiring process did not work out. They came to us to quickly identify, assess, and present them with the best candidates. The client had precise criteria, and combining the unique corporate and, ideally, previous IPO experience with a broader commercial background was challenging. This person needed to be hugely operational yet also able to advise the Executive Committee credibly.

We quickly found lawyers with top-tier training in some of London’s best corporate law practices who had subsequently diversified their experiences by moving in-house. We also prioritised candidates with previous experience leading a company through an initial public offering, designing efficient and pragmatic legal service delivery, and leading and inspiring a geographically dispersed legal team.

Within four weeks, we were able to provide our client with a shortlist of five candidates. They moved quickly to secure an exceptional UK-qualified corporate and commercial lawyer with previous IPO experience and experience scaling a global legal team.
