The Opportunity

Lumenci is accelerating its expansion through strategic acquisitions, new service launches, and broader global reach. A new position of SVP of Business Development has been created to drive company expansion.

The individual will both shape and execute the firm’s next 3-4 year business development and sales strategy by unlocking new revenue opportunities globally with particular emphasis on expanding Lumenci’s reach across enterprises and licensing/monetization entities.

Key Responsibilities

This is a senior, externally facing leadership role for a highly connected IP commercial leader. Partnering closely with the leadership, you will:

  • Develop and lead Lumenci’s global business development strategy, aligned with company expansion plans – across all Lumenci services and AI products.
  • Identify the next point of revenue: new segments, new offerings, new geographies, and new partner channels.
  • Advise the leadership on market positioning, go-to-market priorities, and commercial implications of acquisitions and service launches.
  • Originate and convert new opportunities with corporates and licensing / monetization entities globally.
  • Expand Lumenci’s corporate footprint— both inside and outside the US where enterprise relationships are strategically important.
  • Build and deepen relationships with senior decision-makers across IP, legal leadership, licensing, and innovation functions.

The candidate

The successful applicant should:

  • Possess deep roots and credibility in the global IP community.
  • Bring senior BD and commercial leadership experience within IP, such as: IP monetization   / IP litigation support ecosystem /IP strategy / consulting and IP-centric platforms or services (including AI-enabled solutions).
  • Demonstrate a track-record originating new revenue, and helping build new services/products.
  • Possess strong influence with corporate stakeholders in relevant tech environments.
  • Be comfortable operating at executive level with sophisticated stakeholders.
  • Be a highly effective relationship builder with a consultative leadership style.
  • Have a strong understanding of IP litigation and monetization dynamics.
  • Feel comfortable working with ambiguity and fast pace in a PE-backed growth environment.
  • Be able to attract sales and business development talent.
  • Be a strong representative of the Lumenci brand in customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Be familiar with high-tech sectors and standards (an additional plus).
